Holden Agricultural Society – Scholarship Criteria 2020
Scholarship 1 – A $500 scholarship is available to a current grade 12 student at an area school who has participated in either Minor Hockey or 4H club for a minimum of 4 years (with at least 2 of those in Holden Minor Hockey or released by such if no team was available for their particular level or Holden 4-H Beef or Beaver County 4-H multi-club), to pursue post-secondary education for a minimum period of 1 year. An application by letter to the Board of the Holden Agricultural Society must be received no later than June 1st of any given year. The current board of directors will make a preliminary selection and the final decision will be made by a minimum of 5 directors as selected by the board. The award will be presented at the School awards night held in approximately September or October of that year.
Scholarship 2 – A $500 scholarship is available to a current grade 12 student at an area school who has participated in a minimum of 100 hours of volunteer work within the communities of Holden and/or Ryley with relevant work being signed off by an approved board member of an organization or staff member of a municipality, to pursue post-secondary education for a minimum period of 1 year. An application by letter to the Board of the Holden Agricultural Society must be received no later than June 1st of any given year. The current board of directors will make a preliminary selection and the final decision will be made by a minimum of 5 directors as selected by the board. The award will be presented at the School awards night held in approximately September or October of that year.
